Our name is a tribute to the legendary indoor hockey arenas that have shaped the world of sports—starting with Edmonton’s very own Edmonton Gardens, built in 1913 and restored in 1966. This iconic arena was home to the World Hockey Association’s Edmonton Oilers from 1972 to 1974. Our name also honors the great Madison Square Gardens, Boston’s TD Gardens, and Maple Leaf Gardens—true landmarks of sport and culture.

At The Gardens, we’re more than just a place to watch the game. The Gardens YEG opened its doors in February 2022, just after the pandemic, with a strong community spirit and a shared passion for sports. Built with the help of local bartenders, servers, cooks, and even a neighborhood nurse, we proudly stand as a testament to Edmonton’s resilience and togetherness.
